At ShopGenie, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our merchants and their customers. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you install and use our Shopify application suite.

1. Information We Collect

When you install a ShopGenie app (such as Smart Discounts), we automatically access specific information from your Shopify account as authorized by the Shopify App permissions layout:

• Shop Information: Your store name, email address, physical address, locale, and currency format to configure our widgets correctly.
• Theme & Storefront Asset Access: Access to write theme assets so that our discount widgets and progress indicators render on your storefront.
• Cart / Session Session Identifiers: Non-personalized identifiers to track when a customer adds products to their cart to compute discount eligibility.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to run and optimize our applications, specifically to:

• Provide and support our Shopify app tools (e.g. calculating progress bar targets in real-time).
• Offer merchant support, resolve troubleshooting tickets, and fix styling alignment issues.
• Analyze usage metrics of our apps to plan updates, build new features, and improve conversion rate suggestions.

3. Data Sharing and Retention

We do not sell, rent, or lease merchant or customer personal data to third parties. We only share data with subprocessors (such as database or hosting systems) needed to run our applications. We store merchant metadata as long as the application remains installed on your store, and purge database entries within 30 days of app removal.

4. Security

We employ industry-standard encryption protocols (HTTPS/TLS) for transit of data and secure cloud hosting environments to store any merchant configurations.
